    Had lunch here today. There are two things to recommend this place: Very nice outdoor seating with nice views (albeit not of the mountain) overlooking the courtyard, traditional pueblo ovens, and kiva pool, and good food. Actually, my thoughts on the food are a little mixed (see below). I started with the Chicken & Mushroom Enchiladas, the best I've had here in New Mexico. It was beautifully plated, piled high on the plate. Kind of hard to tell, but I think there were three corn tortillas filled with mushrooms and chicken, served on a bed of rice with black beans, roasted corn, chopped bell peppers, a drizzle of flavored cream, and green chili (you could also get red or Christmas). Plenty of food, great quality, and well executed. Also came with three different rolls, all good, and two rounds of ice cold butter! Mmmmm! Dessert was more disappointing. I ordered the filled donuts. I don't recall the name on the menu, but they were basically three filled donut holes. One filled with pastry cream, one with jam, and one chocolate. The fillings were a little more complex than that according to the menu, but I couldn't taste it. The biggest problem I had though was that they were not cooked to order. They were obviously made earlier. Maybe not even today. In fact, they were a little cold. Disappointing. Their signature dessert is some kind of peanut butter pie. I'll try that next time.

    Located in the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, The Santa Ana Cafe is the most casual dining option. They have a nice breakfast buffet, as well as great menu items. The decor is South West casual and the service is friendly. The prices are higher than the local restaurants, but on the reasonable end of hotel dining. There's a nice view and they welcome families and large groups. Sunday has an expanded buffet and made-to-order omelets.

    Having eaten at the Corn Maiden the night before and been terribly disappointed, this place totally delivered for breakfast the next day. The two experiences could not have been different. The food at the Cafe was excellent. It was expertly prepared, fresh and well seasoned. And the service was similarly excellent. The chef even stopped by to check in. If you do one thing at the Tamaya, it should be to skip the Corn Maiden and head to the Cafe.

    My wife and I stayed at the Tamaya recently and decided to eat breakfast at the Santa Ana Cafe rather than leave our comfortable confines of the resort. My first suggestion is to skip the breakfast buffet. The buffet choices are fairly pedestrian for the $20 price tag. You are better served ordering from the regular menu. We ordered the cowboy breakfast (which is essentially what Denny's would call a breakfast scramble), and the carne asada and eggs (which in simpler times would be called steak and eggs). Both were tasty and well-prepared. Because we were in the hotel, we expected your typical hotel price inflation. But all things considered, it was not a bad deal, especially if you include the terrific views out on the patio... save for the $5 cup of coffee.

    Awesome food and service! I recommend the chicken fajitas, however, the pumpkin soup was a little too sweet for me. Around the table there were cheers for the Mahi Mahi tacos and the NM tortilla burger. Fun place to go to get away from the city, lovely ambience.

    If they are offering the chicken tortilla Soup or the tomato bisque as an option get it. I am actually finishing up this draft of my review after eating here years ago and I still remember that I loved of all things the soup. I came here to host a conference and all of my fellow conference operations people all agreed that the soups were delicious. If I could have gotten the recipes I would have.

    I've enjoyed every meal I've had at Santa Ana Cafe. Friday nights during Spring and Summer they have prime buffet that's delicious. As good as the prime rib is, the smoked, peel-and-eat shrimp is awesome.

    Fabulous meal tonight. Started off with cocktails - a little light on the alcohol but were specialty drinks and still tasted delicious. Next I had the green chile pork soup with the steak salad and am absolutely impressed with the fresh flavors and quality of food! My son ordered the chicken tortilla soup and Southwest Caesar - he thoroughly enjoyed both. Will definitely recommend to friends and will be back again!

    We had dinner here twice and breakfast once. The food is very good, the only disappointment being the baby back ribs. They weren't bad, but certainly more on the mediocre side. But every meal was fun and enjoyable. And there is a good wine list with reasonable prices for a resort. Since this is the more casual of the resort's two restaurants I'd say the food is a bit better than I would have expected.

    This review is for the regular weekend brunch buffet (i.e. not a special holiday one). For $16pp (fresh squeeze OJ is an additional $4) this buffet is a really great deal. They have a chef there to make you waffles and fresh egg dishes. There is an interesting selection of hot traditional breakfast items enhanced with New Mexican flair. The breakfast pastries were pretty good and a notch above those found at most nicer buffets. I am a big fan of buffets that serve smoked salmon and all the proper accoutrements were present. Even though I went to this place in the middle of winter, even the fresh fruits were sweet and lovely. This is not a huge Las Vegas style buffet, it is small, intimate and the food is very fresh. For locals looking for a weekend treat or somewhere to get together with some friends, this is a great option. Even for those who aren't fans of buffet, a traditional breakfast menu is also served.

    I stayed at the Hyatt Tamaya from July 1- July 5, 2012 and ate an assortment of meals here. The breakfast buffet is nothing short of wonderful. The vegetarian dishes, while a bit limited, were nothing short of delicious. The veggie burger is highly recommended. The service was excellent. I look forward to returning.

    We booked a table for Mother's Day for dinner. When we arrived they told us they were behind in the kitchen and would have to sit at our table and wait 45 minutes before we would be served! So we we left and certainly will never return! This is a four star hotel and resort! This is unacceptable!

    Had steak fajitas with shanna and dad -very good!!! Ate there again for the breakfast buffet reasonable price a lot to choose from made to order waffles and eggs
